The Conservancy
In partnership with the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, Van Cortlandt Park Conservancy aims to help maintain, preserve and program Van Cortlandt Park through fundraising efforts as well as public outreach.

In January of 2009, a group of devoted supporters incorporated the non–profit Van Cortlandt Park Conservancy. Modeled after the successful public/private partnerships which have shepherded the transformation and quality maintenance of Central Park and Prospect Park, the Van Cortlandt Park Conservancy is a non–profit organization whose goal is to build support during these tough economic times and raise significant funding for capital improvements as well as staffing assistance. The City provides over $4 million annually to operate the park at its current level and, by combining efforts with the Conservancy, there is potential for the park to operate at a higher level.
